Jonathan grew up in Upstate New York and moved to South Carolina after college to teach middle school English in Columbia (living in Camden with his cousin for the first month and half here). After three years of teaching, he felt called into youth ministry and served Shandon United Methodist Church as Youth Director from 2001-2006. He then went on to seminary at Emory University, was ordained while serving as Associate Pastor of First UMC Myrtle Beach for four years, followed by ten years as Lead Pastor of Travelers Rest UMC, followed by three years as Senior Pastor of St. Andrew By-The-Sea UMC in Hilton Head. He is now excited to be back 'home' in the Midlands, close to both his parents in Blythewood, his in-laws in Columbia, and his cousin up the street.

Jonathan has a passion for worship, preaching, teaching, and equipping others for ministry. He enjoys running, fitness, reading, music, and being on the water, and doing all of these things along with his favorite people: his wife Rebecca, who is the owner and CEO of Forest Acres Payroll; son Edward and daughter Mary Elizabeth, both high-schoolers and athletes; and Penny, their 4-year old mutt, who is a very good girl.
