Worshiping Together Again

Worship at LSUMC

We are glad you are interested in worshiping with us as LSUMC. The following guidelines are in place as we return to in-person worship. Many are recommended and encouraged by the S.C. United Methodist Church, the CDC and the City of Camden. We will continuously monitor these guidelines against state and local infection rates, and make adjustments as necessary.

Our Sunday Worship Schedule at this time:

9am Traditional Worship in the Sanctuary

11:15am elevate! Contemporary Worship in the Sanctuary

Our online schedule remains the same!
Traditional
services will continue streaming on Facebook and YouTube at 9:00am
elevate! services will continue streaming at 11:15am

Be considerate as you find a space to sit.

Please observe the flow of traffic directional signs posed on the floor of the sanctuary.  Family units may sit together without social distancing. Others are encouraged to be seated in compliance with social distancing, as suggested by the CDC.

Please wear a mask.

Camden's City Council enacted a Face Mask ordinance, therefore, everyone is to wear a face mask while on campus. This is not only for your protection, but also an act of concern and consideration for all of our fellow worshipers. If you do not have a mask, we will be happy to provide one for you. Hand sanitizer will also be available. Please help yourself to some on your way in and out.

Be in touch without touching.
In the midst of all our excitement to greet, please remember to maintain social distancing. At this time, our caring should compel us against handshakes and hugs. Perhaps consider waving and winking.

Music, Yes! Singing… maybe a little.
We will begin offering a few opportunities to enjoy singing during worship. This will be a gradual process.  If you sing, please wear a mask when you do.  We are concerned with minimizing everyone’s potential exposure to the virus.

New ways to give.
We will not pass the offering plates to receive tithes and offerings as we have in the past. Instead, you may continue your giving online, mailing in your contributions or place them in the offering plates which are placed in specific locations when exiting.

Children’s time.
Children’s time will continue in each service. Our children will not be invited to come down front, but will remain seated with their parents in order to be compliant with social distancing guidelines.

Sunday Nursery.
We offer a nursery during our two Sunday worship services.  This nursery is located in the Inquirers Classroom in the Family Life Center and is staffed with workers who have received CDC sanitation training and comply with all required guidelines.

For your safety.
Our Worship areas and restrooms will be sanitized between services.

Sunday school.
Children's Sunday School is currently being offered in the gym.  The Confirmation Class is also meeting on campus each Sunday for the duration of their class. Some Sunday school classes are beginning to resume their Sunday meetings, while others are still meeting online.  Please check with your class chair or leader for your class schedule and meeting location.

Sacraments and special services.
The pastor, in consultation with relevant committees and staff, will arrange for communion, baptisms, weddings, and funerals as soon as it is deemed safe to proceed with those services.
