glad you are interested in worshiping with us as LSUMC. The following
guidelines are in place as we return to in-person worship. Many are recommended
and encouraged by the S.C. United Methodist Church, the CDC and local guidelines.
We will continuously monitor these against state and local infection rates, and
make adjustments as necessary.
Our Sunday in-person worship schedule is:
The 9am LSUMC Traditional worship meets in the Sanctuary
The 11:15am LSUMC elevate! Contemporary worship meets in the Sanctuary
online schedule remains the same:
The 9am LSUMC Traditional worship will continue to be live on Facebook and YouTube. This service is also broadcast at 11:15 on 102.7 FM WUPB.
The 11:15am LSUMC elevate! Contemporary worship will continue to be live on Facebook and YouTube.
Be considerate as you find a space to sit.
Please observe the flow of traffic directional signs posted on the floor of the sanctuary and please sit every other pew. Family units may sit together without social distancing. Others are encouraged to be seated in compliance with social distancing, as suggested by the CDC.
Please wear a mask.
Camden's City Council enacted a Face Mask ordinance; therefore, everyone is to wear a face mask while on campus. This is not only for your protection, but also an act of concern and consideration for all of our fellow worshipers. If you do not have a mask, we will be happy to provide one for you. Hand sanitizer will also be available. Please help yourself to some on your way in and out.
touch without touching.
In the midst of all our excitement to greet, please remember to maintain social distancing. At this time, our caring should compel us against handshakes and hugs.
Yes! Singing… maybe a little.
We are offering a few opportunities to enjoy singing during worship. If you sing, please wear a mask when you do. We are concerned with minimizing everyone’s potential exposure to the virus.
Currently, there is:
No singing on the first Sunday of each month during the 9am LSUMC Traditional service.
Limited singing during all remaining Traditional Sunday worship services.
Praise Band only singing during all LSUMC elevate! worship services.
We will not pass the offering plates to receive tithes and offerings as we have in the past. Instead, please continue your giving online, by texting to give, mailing in your contributions or placing them in the offering plates which are placed in specific locations in the Sanctuary.
Children’s time will continue in each service. If there is a large number of children attending worship, they may not be invited to come down front, instead they will remain seated with their parents in order to be compliant with social distancing guidelines. We appreciate your understanding as this will be a week-by-week decision.
We offer a nursery during both Sunday in-person worship services. This nursery is located in the Inquirers Classroom in the Family Life Center and is staffed with workers who have received CDC sanitation training and comply with all required guidelines.
Our Worship areas and restrooms will be sanitized between services.
Children's Sunday School is currently at 10am in the gym. The Confirmation Class is also meeting on campus each Sunday for the duration of their class. The Trinity Class is meeting in their classroom upstairs in the Education Building. The Pathfinders Class will meet in the Aldersgate Classroom in the FLC. Some Sunday school classes are still meeting online. Please check with your class chair or leader for your class schedule and meeting location.
and special services.
The pastor, in consultation with relevant committees and staff, will arrange for communion, baptisms, weddings, and funerals as soon as it is deemed safe to proceed with those services.
Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month with individually wrapped consecrated elements. For those who would like to partake but are worshiping with us online or with the radio broadcast, consecrated elements are available for you in the Sanctuary from 12-3pm on Communion Sundays. You may come to the Sanctuary and enjoy individual participation of this sacrament.
