Getting Together Again

Starting on July 12 at 8:45am, LSUMC will offer a Patio Service. Bring your chair(s) or blanket, and let's worship together again!

We will gather on the church’s east lawn (behind the Family Life Center) for a blended worship experience on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. This service will be about 35 minutes long, and will provide an opportunity for us to safely worship together while we make use of our campus in a way that we have not done in recent years.

The following guidelines will be in place when we return to worship in person. Many are recommended and encouraged by the S.C. United Methodist Church. We will continuously monitor these guidelines against state and local infection rates, and make adjustments as necessary.

Our online schedule remains the same!
Traditional
services will continue streaming on Facebook and YouTube at 9:00am
elevate! services will continue streaming at 11:15am

Rainy Day Plan

In the event of inclement weather, we will update the church website and send mass eMails, text messages, and robocalls to the entire congregation. Please be sure that we have your current contact information.

Be considerate as you find a space to sit.
Family units may cluster without social distancing. Others are encouraged to be seated in compliance with social distancing, as suggested by the CDC. Though we are outdoors, we should still strive to be safe.

Help us keep up with attendance.
In support of our efforts to keep everyone safe, we ask that you please check in if you attend worship. This way, if the need for contact tracing ever arises, we will be able to provide health officials with direct contact information for all who need to be contacted.

You should check in using the "PATIO CHECK IN" button on our website home screen. It will only be live from 8:30am - 5:00pm on Sundays.

Please wear a mask.
We strongly urge everyone to wear a mask while on campus. This is not only for your protection, but also an act of concern and consideration for all of our fellow worshipers. If you do not have a mask, we will be happy to provide one for you. Hand sanitizer will also be available. Please help yourself to some on your way in and out.

Be in touch without touching.
In the midst of all our excitement to greet, please remember to maintain social distancing. At this time, our caring should compel us against handshakes and hugs. Perhaps consider waving and winking.

Yes, music! Singing… maybe.
If you sing, please wear a mask when you do. While we will be outside, we are concerned with minimizing everyone’s potential exposure to the virus.

New ways to give.
We will not pass the offering plates to receive tithes and offerings as we have in the past. Instead, you may continue your giving online or via receptacles to be placed throughout the worship spaces. There will be opportunities for you to give before, during, and after worship.

Children’s time.
Children’s time will continue in each service. Our children will not be invited to come down front, but will remain seated with their parents in order to be compliant with social distancing guidelines.

No Nursery… just yet.
No nursery will be provided until we are comfortable that we can do so safely.

For your safety.
Our common areas will be sanitized between services.

Sunday school.
Sunday school classes will not meet on campus through the summer. We encourage classes to continue meeting via Zoom or other electronic/safe means. On-campus Sunday school meetings will resume when we discern that it is safe to do so.

Sacraments and special services.
The pastor, in consultation with relevant committees and staff, will arrange for communion, baptisms, weddings, and funerals as soon as it is deemed safe to proceed with those services.
