As a member of the United Methodist Men, each man commits himself to:

• Seek daily Christ’s way of life through prayer and Bible reading;
• Bear witness to this way in his daily work and all personal contacts through his words and actions;
• Engage in some definite Christian service by recognizing that he works in partnership with Christ in the stewardship of his life.

Nurture, outreach, and witness are areas of focus for United Methodist Men.  In the area of nurture, United Methodist Men teach and participate in Sunday School, Bible study, and small groups.  One small group is centered on John Wesley’s class meeting.  The facilitator and participants examine their relationship with God and seek a closer, more personal relationship with God.

In the area of outreach, United Methodist Men work in the WARM ministry, Salkehatchie Summer Service, and Food for the Soul ministry.  Men serve as mentors in schools and serve in prison ministry.   United Methodist Men are planning a Seniors Support Ministry to assist older women and men.   Men will participate in a Rise for Hunger meal packaging event.

In the area of witness, United Methodist Men share their faith by words and actions.   Both words and actions demonstrate their love of Christ.  God’s love for all of His children is presented to the men at the Kershaw County Detention Center and other prisons.  United Methodist Men are selling Easter crosses to give people the opportunity to be a visible witness for Jesus Christ during this Lenten season.   Men will be manning the Upper Room prayer lines to assist those requesting prayer.   To listen and pray with an individual is a wonderful way to share the love of Christ.
