• Chancel Choir

    Age: 6th grade and older

    Rehearsals: Wednesdays 7:00pm - 8:45pm (August - May)

    This group leads singing at our traditional worship services (9:00am and 11:15am)  from August through June. Additionally, they present at least one major work - usually choral/orchestral - each year.

  • Chancel Bells

    Age: 18 and older

    Rehearsals: Wednesdays 6:00pm - 6:55pm (August - May)

    Director: TBD

    The five-octave Chancel Bells ring approximately once monthly in worship, and on invitation for community events.

  • Contemporary Worship Team

    Age: Middle School and Older


    Vocals only: Thursdays, 6:30pm - 8:30pm in the Fellowship Hall

    Full Worship Team: Sundays, 8:15 am - 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall

    The Contemporary Worship Team is the resident ensemble for our modern service currently taking place in the Fellowship Hall at 11:15 am. This group strives to lead worship through empowering the congregation through God's love and through leading songs that may be Traditional, Modern, or a blend of both.   • Youth Bells

    Age: 6th - 12th grade

    Rehearsals: Sundays 5:00pm - 6:00pm (September - May)

    Directors: Emily Catoe with assistance TBD

    These youths ring repertoire up to a difficulty level 3. Members of these ensemble generally participate in LSUMC's United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF). Enrollment varies between 3 and 5 octaves from year to year, and there are typically two ensembles - High School Bells and Middle School Bells. A rehearsal and worship schedule is provided during the first UMYF meeting.

    All of our ministries involving children and youth adhere to our Safe Sanctuary Policy.

  • Children's Ensembles

    Age: 4K - 5th grade

    Rehearsals: Wednesdays 2:30-4:00pm (September - December; February - April)

    Directors: Variable by semester.

    There are graded ringing/singing choirs for children at LSUMC, and participants are generally enrolled in our Wonderful Wednesdays program. These children's ensembles usually lead music in worship on four Sundays every year - twice in the fall, and twice in the spring. They are also occasionally featured in concerts at Lyttleton Street and on invitation. The ensembles are:

    • Cherub Choir (age 4 - 1st grade)
    • Carol Choir (2nd - 5th grade)
    • Chime Choir (2nd grade)
    • Elementary Bells (two sections from grades 3-5, arranged by musical ability)
